If hot spots are detected, then the gasket needs to be replaced. Door gaskets are simple to service, if the correct replacement is available. Replacement takes only a few minutes and a screwdriver. Pay attention to the way the gasket is removed because replacement is the reverse of the same process. Screws or tabs may secure the gasket which will need to be removed and replaced. While the gasket is out of the channel, it is a good idea to clean that area with a mild detergent solution. If the gasket is mounted on the oven itself, you need to call us.

•    Erroneous temperature readings in relation to the dial setting indicate an improperly set or failing thermostat. To repair this problem will necessitate removing the control panel and adjusting a notched wheel. Each notch is a temperature differential of 25 degrees. Loosening – not removing – two or three screws will allow the notched wheel to be turned. Rotating clockwise lowers the temperature and counterclockwise raises the temperature. Be sure to check the temperature with the same thermometer. Only rotate the wheel one notch at a time, secure it, and check it. If the problem persists, it may be a faulty thermostat, which needs to be repaired by one of our specialists.
